The device contains an infrared motion sensor that detects the movement of a fox in front of it.

How do foxes react to the FOXWatch?

However, you are quite likely to see a fox poo and spray urine near the FOXWatch soon after installation. This is perfectly normal behaviour and is a sign the fox is trying to overpower the unwelcome ‘intruder’ that has suddenly appeared in its territory.
You just need to remain patient and allow the FOXWatch the time to do its job of teaching the fox that these annoying noises will be there every time it comes into your garden. It is through this repeated exposure that the fox learns to associate your garden with the unpleasant noises and its visits will get fewer and farther between as time goes on.
